Current Events and Resources from our Class and Community

Dear Age of Workers,
I am (as you can probably tell) struggling to organize the information on this site. We have forums, events, and even "blog posts." Because I'm getting some great tips and announcements from members of our group, I decided to add ANOTHER "discussion" where I can post timely announcements. If you know of company that is hiring, hear of a great class or event -- either post it here or send it to me to post.

Gail G alerted us about this great opportunity for those interested in financial work in town. A "CMA" Rally. If this sounds of interest, check out the word document uploaded below.

The purpose of this Rally besides showing attendees the value of getting a CMA, what is involved, etc. is to sign up those interested in studying for their CMA for one of 2 options that I have organized through the SB Chap. of the IMA. One is simply to form a Study Group with a person who already has a CMA acting as an advisor/resource person when needed. The other which I favor if we can get enough attendees is to have an instructor we found who is willing to come up from San Diego for 8 Saturdays for 8 hours/day starting 2/21 to instruct classes to be held at Citrix Online which we have access to for free due to one of our IMA Board members being employed there. This instructor is willing to do this at very low cost which will be a total of $565.00/person for the 4 Parts that includes all the materials. Attendees can pay on a per Part basis for the 4 Parts if they prefer as follows: Part 1 and 3 would cost $140.00/person, Part 2 would cost $175.00/person, and Part 4 would cost $110.00/person. As far as I know this is the first time in Santa Barbara that such an opportunity for instructor led CMA classes has become available not to mention at such a low and reasonable price.

This comes from class member Tom D. The run down of classes offered by the EDD. I mentioned I've taken one of these and I thought it was exceptional!

Attached to this note, a PDF with the classes
