Lorrie Thomas has some free classes through the SBCC PDC

A number of our speakers and class members have commented about Lorrie Thomas. She's a remarkable professional who helps a lot of folks to do their best work using the latest tools. Our SBCC PDC friends have made it possible to get some free classes from Lorrie.
There's one going on as I type this, but I think this link will help you keep track of her offerings.

Eric Canton's Book Suggestion

Great class last night! I was intrigued with the book that Mr. Canton talked about. Because of the wonders of the Internet, it is easy to get out-of-print books for a good price. For anything new, I urge you to go to your locally owned bookstores (moment of reverence for Chaucers here). But for things that fall along what is now being called "the long tail" of retail, I use half.com, an Ebay property that is really easy to use. I noticed that the… Continue

Internships working for the Goleta Chamber

Thanks to our guest and AOW fan, Tanja! Good info.

Dear Don,

Can you please share this information with your Age of Work class tonite as it sounds like a
fantastic opportunity.

The GVCC is seeking two people who have 12-13 hours per month available and are
interested in learning about either Events or Business Development.

And of course, the networking possibilities are endless....

Can you also consider posting it on your website?

Thanks!

Enjoyed the class last night with the panel discussion tips and the great guests. Would like to get a hold of Paul Burri's chapter one from his upcoming book.

Thank you. It looks like it will be an interesting class. Unfortunately I will have to be out of town for the first class meeting, but will be back for all the rest. Should I send someone to represent me so that you have the necessary count for the first class day?

Hi Don,
Do the local Unemployment and Workforce Investment Act folks know of this website as resource?
I don't remember seeing it on their informational lists...

Hi Don,
The status field is a great idea, did I miss that before or is it new?
I had an idea for the site- encouraging members to create a bio or a few sentences about what they are looking for, hope to accomplish or skills they bring. I think this could encourage some networking between site members with similar interests/needs.
Thoughts?
Regards,
Mike-
