Hi again, Thursday late afternoon students,
I missed a few tidbits I wanted to share with you so here goes:
Psychiatrist Dr. Peter Brill (
Third Age Foundation, Santa Barbara) reminded me to keep my life in balance while I was working on my website. So make sure you eat well, exercise, and go out to play with friends.
Keep positive connections. Those who aren't upbeat about your strides in the job world--well, keep them at a distance for now. Just the fact that you're taking a class such as this proves to me that you are anxious to do what it takes to get back into the job market.
Comment, comment, comment and form connections to people out there who can help (think of former colleagues, your kids' friends' parents at ball games, gym class, business seminars, distant relatives, and the list goes on).
Check out
my website for more on
jobs,
career changes, and
entrepreneurship.
If you need help with computers, take advantage of the computer lab at Wake Center (the assistants there are great and it's FREE!!!).
Take advantage of other sources of free information and aid around town. If you have a business idea, try it out on
SCORE. The Santa Barbara chapter is one of the best!
Tap more into
Don Lubach's wide range of knowledge. Follow this site often.
Email me if you have any further questions or you want me to clarify something I muddled in my presentation (I can handle it!).
Best of luck.
Susan Levine
