Where are the %&@*!# jobs? There is no recovery without job growth.

Where are the %&@*!# jobs?
Repeat after us. There is no strong recovery without job growth. There is no strong recovery without job growth. Why does Wall Street not get that? and Washington...

Another day, another 7,000 people run out of unemployment benefits.
As the Senate debates whether to extend unemployment benefits, more than 200,000 jobless Americans are set to see their checks stop in October.

Excellent comments Don, you captured my feelings and intentions exactly.
A fellow mature student of mine at SBCC just landed a job after a being out of work for a year. So opportunities do pop-up, even in SB.

Mike. This is good information. I also know that there are jobs popping up here and there. It's important, especially for the mature seekers, to keep moving forward..accepting short gigs, taking a class to update skills, scrubbing the resume one more time, etc. It's a strange balance, I imagine, to follow this bleak data and use it to assure that we're not alone in this national picture of pain and also keep up the optimism and drop in another application or attend another mixer or volunteer event. It requires a lot of internal resources.

Thanks for posting a dose of reality and thanks for being appropriately angry about it.

What do others think?
